Mango Kulfi

So, this morning my dad, my mum and si Li has return to KL. We wake up around 4am
and headed to Miri airport before 5am.

Last entry i ramblings on my worry over my mum's complaint due to her selective choice of food, and FYI my mum didn't rant any on my cooking. Alhamdulillah. I guess it was because i keep humble and try hardly on down-to-earth conversation i.e. "ala mak..lauk bodoh je", "ala mak, rumah kecil je", "duduk berdua je..simple2 je semua.." etc etc..I just want to reduce her expectation on me. Or my mum still have some respect to my hubby i've no idea. I want and try to be the best wife and the best mummy but i have my own way, which i can't be my mom's duplicate and replicate every single thing if only to meet everyone expectation. This doesnt mean that i completely reject my mum's traditional idea, which some of her methods were recognized.

We brought them around Miri tourist attractions, bought some souveneirs and Sarawak
traditional food, and last Saturday we visited Brunei just wandering around Bandar Seri Begawanwithout my husband as he have other school camping activity. Visiting Brunei was notpart of our plan, so we not booked any travel agent or change our currency. It just popped out from dad, eager to see the culture and lifestyle (if there's a special culture) there, so it was only a day in Brunei. After all, the distance from my home in Miri and the border of Sarawak-Brunei takes only 20 minutes or less! To go to Bandar Seri Begawan, we drove about 2 hours to get there. (i'll write about that later)

Last week, i'm in the good mood to try the good recipes. As my family visit me here, it was quite complacent i have something to serve them for our high-tea or supper.

The recipe taken from MW (i dont know which issue, i tear it from the main page),which the dish is the courtesy from Sheesh Mahal Restaurant at Subang Jaya. Yes, this is Pakistani-style restaurant, so the buah pelaga in mango ice-cream just to give the taste of spice, compatible with the culture of Asian food .

Mango Kulfi (Ais krim mangga)
2 biji buah pelaga (dikisar)
1 biji buah mangga (dikisar)
8 oz gula kastor
1 tin susu cair
10 oz krim
1 sudu teh jus limau

1. Masukkan buah mangga yang telah dikisar dalam satu bekas. Campurkan dengan gula
2. campurkan ia dengan susu, krim, buah pelaga dan jus limau
3. Masukkan dalam peti sejuk untuk dihidangkan
4. Potong-potong menjdai kiub dan hidangkan semasa sejuk.

Of course i did modify on how-to-cook part. I blended all the ingredients and pour into two containers, one for mine and one to return my neighbour's container.Easy baahh!

I decorated it with mix cherry and gula urai mix chocolate.
As my mum taste it, she remind us of our childhood stories where she also made ice-cream for us, but using the special ice-cream flour, and the stories dragged into our naughtiness.
Oh why on earth she have to tell it in front of my hubby!
